People arrive at this site frightened and in the first few days after an arrest. They are not comparing firms. They are trying to work out what happens next, and the ones who then call somebody are ready to hire.
How your listing got here
Listings are built from public state bar records. If you are admitted and active in a state we cover, you may already be listed. Nobody signed you up and nothing was published that the public record does not support.
An unclaimed listing shows your name, firm, office city, admission year, the counties you accept cases in where we have that, and a phone number. It carries no photograph, no biography and no link to your website, because we have no permission from you to publish those.
We re-check bar standing at least every ninety days. If standing lapses or a check goes stale, the listing stops appearing everywhere on the site automatically.

Featured placement is advertising and we describe it that way everywhere. Every featured listing carries a Featured label, on every page it appears on, without exception. We will not remove that label, make it less visible, or sell a placement that does not carry it. Bar advertising rules require the disclosure and we agree with them.
Placement is a flat monthly fee. It is never tied to whether anyone hires you, to case outcomes, or to fees you earn, because that would be a referral fee and it is not what this is.
There is a limit on how many featured slots a page can carry, so the top of a list does not become an advertising block. On a page past that limit, the additional featured listings still carry the label and the border, and simply sit in the normal order.
What advertising cannot buy: any change to a legal figure on this site, any change to where a non-paying attorney appears, and removal of anything unfavorable. The statutes are the statutes.
Attorney FAQ
I never asked to be listed. Can you take me down?
Yes, and no explanation is needed. Ask and we will suppress the listing. Once suppressed it does not appear anywhere on the site.
Is my listing worse because I do not pay?
No. Free listings are ordered by office location and coverage, not by whether anyone is paying. Paid placement moves a listing to the top of a list with a label on it. It does not push anyone off the page or out of the directory.
Some of my details are wrong.
Tell us and we will fix them. Claiming the listing lets you correct most of it yourself, including which counties you actually take cases in, which is the field most often wrong on directories that infer it from an office address.
Do you publish disciplinary history?
No. Doing that responsibly needs a considered policy rather than an automated feed, and we have not written one. We do use it internally when deciding whether to list someone.
How do you decide which counties I cover?
You tell us. We record it as self-reported and label it that way on your profile. We never infer coverage from how near your office is to a courthouse.
Do you sell my contact details or the leads I receive?
No. Messages sent through a contact form go to you. We keep a non-reversible record that a message happened, for our own counts, and not the contents or the sender’s details.
